Beginners
In these classes students will learn to read and write the Tibetan alphabet. There will be plenty of practice of correct pronunciation. Some vocabulary will also be introduced. This course forms the foundation for the Intermediate course.
Intermediate
This course builds on what has been learnt in the beginners' course, including grammar, further vocabulary and reading and writing practice. In order to enrol for this course it is necessary to have completed the beginners' course or equivalent.

Lama will teach a weekly class on the six perfections of Generosity, Right Conduct, Patience, Diligence, Meditation and Wisdom. These teachings will be based on Shantideva's classic text , Bodhicharyavatara or The Bodhisattva's way of life.
Suitable for anyone wishing to learn more about Buddhism and meditation.

GREEN TARA PRACTICE DAY

Green Tara embodies all the perfect qualities of the body, speech and mind of all the Buddhas. The practice is used to help us to overcome inner and outer obstacles. This day of practice will be dedicated to the long life and activity of His Holiness 17th Karmapa, Choje Akong Tulku Rinpoche, Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche and all the Kagyu Lamas.
There will be one complete practice in the morning and one in the afternoon. Everyone is welcome to attend one or both practice sessions. Please bring Green Tara sadhana text.

STEPPING FREE OF THE MIND'S POISONED PATTERNS with Alistair Appleton

Mindfulness is a powerful form of meditation which looks at the particular patterns that generate the negative emotions referred to as mind poisons in Buddhist psychology.
During this weekend we will investigate how we create our own stress and unhappiness. Combining Buddhist mindfulness and psychotherapeutic techniques, Alistair will show that rather than fighting these negative emotions, we can develop compassion and acceptance and work with our negative patterns to find happiness.
This weekend is open to everyone and will be useful for both beginners and more experienced meditators.
