Rokpa Runners - Brighton Marathon April 2014

Last year our wonderful resident builder, Colin Panrucker, ran the Brighton Marathon in aid of charity. This year, inspired by Colin's example, two of Colin's friends are joining him in running the 2014 Brighton Marathon on Sunday 6th April to raise funds for Rokpa.

With less then a month to go the training schedule of all three participants is in full swing. Colin ran 22.5 miles this last Sunday, with Matt running a similar distance and Ruo running a shorter distance (she is recovering from a trianing injury). It would be great if the amount they raise reflects the efforts they are putting in, not just running the marathon, but in the weeks and months of training leading up to it. The amount of devotion and endurance these runners are putting in is spectacular. Only they can say how many blisters they have had and how many gallons of sweat they have left on the streets of London as they train. Rokpa, meaning "help" in Tibetan - is an international charity which focuses on countries and regions where providing humanitarian aid is very challenging but desperately needed.  Helping communities in need in Tibetan areas of China. Rokpa also has projects in Nepal, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Europe and the UK. Rokpa's aim is to improve the quality of life of the poorest peoples around the world irrespective of their religion, nationality or cultural background and to help people to help themselves. More details about Rokpa can be found on its website.

Thank you.
