WhoTeacher: Lama Gelongma Zangmo
Anyone is welcome to attend this event!
Lama Zangmo will give instructions on the practice of Chenrezig, the bodhisattva of compassion.
Lama will go through the text and the course will include instructions in the meaning, visualisation, mantra and mudras.
Texts are available from the shop.
In order to receive these instructions participants should have formally taken Refuge or be intending to do so.
Taking Refuge means formally becoming a Buddhist by taking Refuge in the three jewels (Buddha, Dharma, Sangha.) If you are unsure whether you wish to take Refuge, it would be better that you don't join this course just now. You are welcome to attend the more general courses on Buddhism and meditation. Lama Zangmo is teaching on the Meaning of Refuge from the 22nd of May. Click here for more details about that course.
The Chenrezig practice takes place every Saturday and most Sunday every month. Please refer to the weekly programme for more details.
Traditionally the Buddhist teachings are given freely because they are considered priceless and those receiving the teachings practice generosity, or Dana, by making monetary offerings for the centre. This generosity is not payment for goods or services rendered; it is an offering given, freely from the heart, in appreciation for receiving the precious instructions that can help better one’s life and the lives of others.
Making a donation directly helps to provide all the necessary conditions for the study and practice of meditation and Buddhism, bringing teachers to teach and maintaining a spiritual community as well as contributing to the considerable expenses that are involved in running a centre. We are grateful for your support and hope to continue to provide a space of peace and calm dedicated to promoting world peace and good health of body and mind.
