About the event

We are delighted to announce that our precious Abbot, Choje Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche, will be visiting Samye Dzong London on Sat 27 & Sun 28 July.

Over the weekend Lama Yeshe Rinpoche will bestow refuge to those wishing to become a Buddhist by taking refuge in the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha. There will be an explanation of what it means to take refuge and what to expect in the ceremony, and there will also be an opportunity for those wishing to take precepts, or wish to renew their precepts.

The Timetable for the Weekend:

This talk will be an explanation of what it means to take refuge and what the refuge ceremony entails, as well as the meaning of taking precepts. The genuine sources of spiritual refuge are the Three Jewels: the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. The ultimate refuge is our own mind, our Buddhanature. There will be time for Q&A at the end of the talk.

  • 2:30 PM - Refuge Ceremony - With Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche

The first formal step on the Buddhist path is taking refuge in the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha, and Lama Yeshe Rinpoche will give refuge to those who wish to become Buddhists. The ceremony is also open to those who wish to simply renew and strengthen their refuge vow or who wish to take precepts. This will be explained in the morning talk by Ani Lhamo
