As a spiritual community and a place of refuge we have a responsibility to do our best to protect the wellbeing and safety of our visiting guests, our teachers and
our residential community.
In light of the coronavirus pandemic we have been closely monitoring the developing situation and, being mindful of government recommendations and also the advice from our trustees, we have decided to close the centre after Sunday 22 March. The centre will remain closed throughout April and all activities including classes, teachings and regular group practice will be cancelled during this period.

This four week course is suitable for beginners and anyone wanting to refresh their meditation instructions and become more familiar with working with the emotions. It is a good follow-up for anyone who already attended an introduction to meditation course.
Lama Zangmo will give meditation instructions and will especially focus on how we can deal with painful emotions such as anger, attachment, stress, fear and confusion.
To apply an antidote we need to be able to recognise the emotion, reflect on the negative impact it has, and then apply the appropriate remedy. With time and practise we gradually become able to pacify and transform them.
There will be explanation of techniques and remedies, as well as general introductory guidelines and time for actual meditation.
Our courses tend to fill up quickly, so booking a place in advance is essential.
We ask that people booking for this course commit to attend all the scheduled classes. If you are unable to commit to full attendance, please do not reserve a place which could have been given to someone else.
Traditionally the Buddhist teachings are given freely because they are considered priceless and those receiving the teachings practice generosity, or Dana, by making monetary offerings for the centre. This generosity is not payment for goods or services rendered; it is an offering given, freely from the heart, in appreciation for receiving the precious instructions that can help better one’s life and the lives of others.
Making a donation directly helps to provide all the necessary conditions for the study and practice of meditation and Buddhism, bringing teachers to teach and maintaining a spiritual community as well as contributing to the considerable expenses that are involved in running a centre. We are grateful for your support and hope to continue to provide a space of peace and calm dedicated to promoting world peace and good health of body and mind.
