Working with the Emotions course with Lama Zangmo -
This course is for those who have already attended one of our Beginners Meditation courses and focuses especially on working with the emotions. It is a four week course covering essential meditation instructions and guidance suitable for beginners. It is also a good follow-up for anyone who already attended an introductory course.
Lama Zangmo will give meditation instructions and will especially focus on how we can deal with painful emotions such as anger, attachment, stress, fear and confusion.
When the afflictions overwhelm us, when the negative emotions take over and we are ruled by anger, greed, jealousy and pride, we are only thinking of our own benefit. Under the power of the afflictions, corruption and dishonesty take over. The negative emotions disturb our inner peace, and motivate actions that ripen into unhappiness.
To apply an antidote we need to be able to recognise the emotion, reflect on the negative impact it has, and then apply the appropriate remedy. With time and practice we become able to pacify and transform them.
There will be explanation of techniques and remedies, as well as general introductory guidelines and time for actual meditation as well as questions and answers.
This is a weekly course taking place every Wednesday evening for 4 weeks from 19.00 and 20.30 and it is a requirement to commit to attend all four classes.
