This is a drop-in class and the text is suitable for those who are both new to Buddhism, as well as to students of the Dharma. ALL WELCOME!
The course
A Precious Garland of the Supreme Path by Gampopa succinctly outlines what we need to know at every stage of the path, and thus throughout our lives. Â It is suitable for anyone wishing to deepen their understanding of the Buddhist path. Each class is like an individual pearl on a beautiful necklace. Â There is value in each, and every pearl. Â Through the vast experience of Lama Zangmo, discover how this text can guide us on leading a wholesome and purposeful life, offering frank answers to common questions concerning obstacles to Dharma practice and the challenges of everyday life.
Guidelines
- Everyone can benefit from listening, studying and contemplating this text.
- There is no need to have attended any previous sessions. Come along when you are able (first timers always welcome!).
- Lama Zangmo will give an explanation of some of the verses. Each session will end with a short meditation.
- Kindly be on time.
About Gampopa:
Gampopa, also known as Dakpo Rinpoche, is one of the most important figures in the Kagyu Lineage. The foremost disciple of Jetsun Milarepa, he truly consolidated the Kagyu tradition by integrating its' special teachings with those of the other main schools of Buddhism namely the Kadampa teachings prevalent during his time.
Gampopa was the founder of the monastic order of the Kagyu School and he founded the Dhaklha Gampo Monastery, where, throughout his life he continued his activities of teaching, meditation, and benefiting beings.
