About the event

This is a Thursday evening course running over 3 weeks especially suited for complete beginners and those who would like to get more meditation experience.
The course will introduce participants to the methods and understanding to establish an ongoing and fruitful practice of calm abiding meditation, shamatha.
It will include instructions in posture, the common methods of shamatha meditation; the problems of distraction; how to support ones' practice and other relevant points. There will be time for meditation and Q&A.
A regular meditation practice can bring a greater sense of inner peace and can help to calm an overactive mind, as well as bring a deeper sense of our own potential.
Important, please note:
When booking onto this course it is a requirement to attend all the dates in full (with the exception of illness) and give it priority over other activities. If you are unable to attend all three classes, please do not book onto this course.

The £5 is a non refundable registration fee, not a payment for the course. There is no charge for our courses and teachings, but donations to help cover the costs of running the centre are very welcome.
