About the event

This is an RSVP event to help us plan for attendance on the day. Please take the time to RSVP this event.

We are very fortunate that eight monks from the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery in India will be leading an afternoon of prayers at Kagyu Samye Dzong London for the swift rebirth of our precious Founder, Choje Akong Tulku Rinpoche, and the Long Life of our precious Abbot, Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche.

We hope as many of you as possible will join us on the day, both older students and new, for the prayers for our precious teachers. Everybody is welcome.

"Vajra masters are experienced guides for inexperienced travellers setting out on a journey; powerful escorts for those who are travelling to dangerous places; ferrymen steering the boat for people crossing a river. Without them, nothing is possible. This is reiterated in countless scriptures." Dudjom Rinpoche.

The Tibetan monks from Tashi Lhunpo Monastery in India are returning to London as part of a tour to celebrate fifty years since the re-establishment of their monastery in India. Tashi Lhunpo Monastery in Tibet was founded by the First Dalai Lama in 1447 and became the seat of the Panchen Lamas, with a population of nearly 6,000 monks and students. Now based in South India, Tashi Lhunpo is home to just over 400 monks and continues the unique study of philosophy and ritual, once again becoming one of the most important centres of Buddhist learning.
