About the event
Bookings for this course will close on 7th April.
We are offering an opportunity to have your precious statues filled and blessed.
You are welcome to bring your statues to Samye Dzong London and participate in a weekend of mantra rolling and filling. Rolling mantras and filling statues are in preparation for a blessing ceremony in which the Buddhas are invited to become one with the statue, making it ready for use on a shrine.
The process involves cleaning the hollow statues inside, brushing the mantras with saffron water and carefully cutting them into strips, rolling the paper tightly around incense, and gluing fabric on the rolls.
The statues then get filled with the appropriate mantras, and with other precious substances.Â
It is very imporant that you book for this event, the booking confirmation email will contain a link, please use this link to register you statues, including the type of statue and the size of the statue!
Each day will start with Lama Zangmo giving the eight precepts, as it is a requirement to keep precepts while filling statues. These will be the eight precepts of:
- Abstaining from killing.
- Abstaining from stealing.
- Abstaining from sexual activity.
- Abstaining from telling lies.
- Abstaining from intoxicating drinks and drugs.
- Abstaining from eating after noon.
- Abstaining from music, singing, dancing and beautifying ornaments.
- Abstaining from using luxurious furniture.
The statues will finally be blessed by Drupon Khen Rinpoche, Karma Lhabu, during his visit to Samye Dzong London from 7th to 9th May 2024.
Please Note: We would appreciate each individual making a contribution as an offering toward this event.
