During the weekend of the 27th-28th of July, there will be an opportunity to take refuge, aswell as a children’s blessing, teaching from Gelong Thubten other events, please see the time table below for more information.

Saturday 27 July
10:00 AM - Dharma in Everyday Life - With Gelong Thubten
A talk on how to maintain a daily meditation practice and bring its benefits into everyday activities. There will also be an explanation of how to train in ethics, compassion and wisdom.

11.30 AM - Explanation of Taking Refuge - With Gelongma Ani Lhamo
This talk will be an explanation of what it means to take refuge and what the refuge ceremony entails, as well as the meaning of taking precepts.The genuine sources of spiritual refuge are the Three Jewels: the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. The ultimate refuge is our own mind, our Buddhanature. There will be time for Q&A at the end of the talk.
Lunch Break
2:30 PM - Refuge Ceremony - With Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche
The first formal step on the Buddhist path is taking refuge in the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha, and Lama Yeshe Rinpoche will give refuge to those who wish to become Buddhists. The ceremony is also open to those who wish to simply renew and strengthen their refuge vow or who wish to take precepts. This will be explained in the morning talk by Ani
3.30 PM - Children's Blessing
A short talk by Gelong Thubten followed by a meeting with Lama Yeshe Rinpoche where the children receive a blessing. We encourage the children to bring a little gift for Rinpoche, such as a drawing they have made or a piece of fruit or anything else they may like to offer him.
Sunday 28 July
10:00 AM -The Spiritual Friend - With Gelong Thubten
A talk on the role of Lamas, Gurus and Lineage in Tibetan Buddhism and the role of faith and trust. This will include some inspiring stories from the lives of our teachers, Akong Tulku Rinpoche and Lama Yeshe Rinpoche, as well as a little about the history of Samye Ling and our organisation.

11:30 AM Question & Answer Session - With Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche
Feel free to ask Rinpoche questions about meditation and Dharma practice. At the end of the session there is an opportunity to offer a katta (white scarf) to Rinpoche and receive a blessing cord.

2:30 PM - Milarepa Tsok Puja, followed by a light offering in the courtyard (You are welcome to bring vegetarian food for the tsok offering)

After the puja we will enjoy a feast, where there will be an opportunity to spend time with Rinpoche in the courtyard garden, weather permitting.
